My initial reluctance hinged on my interpretation of the medium as a forum for extroverts or for people with too much time on their hands. My opinion changed - as I saw blogs of artists I have deep regard for who generously share their ideas and their processes - as I lost all my website files and could no longer update the world about my work - and as I faced several months of world travel and sought a simple way of sharing my adventures with friends.

On the travel front, I'm gearing up for a trip with my entire family in March to first, Beijing, and then Taiwan, where my oldest son is studying on a special scholarship. I'm travelling light: carry-on only, for 10 days. Hence the need to get blog-active right away. My plan is to take pictures with my iPad and blog whenever I can find a wi-fi zone.
So if you've read this far, Welcome to my Blog! I look forward to sharing my art and travels with you over the coming months and hope you'll find something of interest here each time you check in.
Welcome to the world of blogging, Mary. Your work is stunning....and I can't wait to meet you in September when you come to Maine!

ReplyDeleteWelcome to the blogosphere! Looking forward to the inside track on your beautiful work. The red is just stunning with the portrait. Looking forward to Philly!
ReplyDeleteJust saw today that you started blogging with the idea of using your iPad too! I got the BlogPress app. Will experiment this week taking pics with the iPad and inserting them into the blog.
DeleteYes, there is a learning curve....I know blogger has its own app now, as of like September 2011. I'm not sure how good it is though, based on the reviews. When I first tried it, I used Blogsy, which worked pretty well, but you needed some other apps to make it work well with photos.
DeleteHey, Mary! Great to see you here in blog-land. And as usual, your work is stunning! Have a wonderful trip to points East. Looking forward to hearing all about it.

Welcome to Blogland! I've had the pleasure of seeing several pieces of your work, the most recent at PIQF. I'm always amazed at your manipulation of cheesecloth.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on starting your blog; I will enjoy following it, because I'm a great admirer of your work. I enjoy posting what I've been up to on mine. Work in progress or exhibits--like our regional SAQA exhibit in Little Rock, Arkansas.
